Clippers sale of little consequence to NFL (The SportsXchange)

In the overspray of that splashy $2 billion offer by former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer to buy the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers, some NFL media is knee-jerking projections that the long-sought NFL franchise in Los Angeles suddenly is soaring in value. Putting aside how preposterous Ballmer's expenditure is for an NBA club sans arena, the deal should not increase NFL franchise values by a single penny. That might impact the value of NFL franchises even more than Ballmer's mind-boggling extravagance. Two years ago, Jimmy Haslam bought the Cleveland Browns for $1.05 billion.
